In Thursday night’s issue some cabled comment appeared on the fact that a lad aged five years, who recently flew as a passenger on an Imperial Airways machine to Singapore and who had made four flights from London to Bagdad, had _ thus established the record for long-distance flying at his age. This reference to the records of youthful air .travellers recalls the experience of a young Dunedin lady. Miss Frances Heron, who, when under five years of age, flew from Timaru to Dunedin in a DH9 aeroplane. This was thirteen years ago, and the plane, piloted by Captain Fowler, and also carrying Mr Heron, was among the first to land on the foreshore. Miss Heron can surely claim the distinction of being the first and youngest New Zealandborn passenger to travel by air in this country, ■
