(Received January 19, at 1.5 p.m.) At the wool sales 9,358 bales were offered, including 2,235 from New Zealand. Abdut 7,750 bales were sold. There was sustained home and Continental competition at full rates. There were some withdrawals owing to high selling limits. New Zealand greasy cross-breds, “Te Whare,” top, 16 Jd; average, 14Jd. BRADFORD MARKET LONDON, January 18. (Received January 19, at 11 a.m.) At Bradford fine tops were steady at n slightly lower level. Cross-breds have u hardening tendency. Quotations: Seventies, 43Jd; sixty-fours, 42d; sixties, 40d; fifty-sixes, 30d{ fifties, 23d; forty-sixes, 16Jd; forties, 13d. At the wool sales 10,634 bales were offered arid 9,714 were sold, while 1,470 were disposed of privately. There was good general competition, especially by Yorkshire and Germany. The market partly recovered the decline reported the previous day, and prices ruled very firm for all descriptions. Comebacks and cross-breds sold freely at late rates, and greasy merino made 36d for five bales from Walcha.
