Survivors, brought to* Calcutta tell thoi most pathetic stories of the earthquake’s visitation. Practically * tha( whole of Monghyr was laid flat. Hundreds of people are buried in the debris,] particularly women and children. As in, other parts, water spouted from that t earth. ; There is a. likelihood that the samestory will he told about Bettiah, which! is believed to, have suffered even moral than Mussafarpore or Monghyr, _ N<* word has been received from Bettiah.
