In reply to a message in regard, to the problem of unemployed teachers, Air S. G. Smith, M.P., lias received the following telegram from the Hon. R. Masters:— “ Your telegram to hand. The question of rationing teachers has been engaging my attention, and I hope to announce a scheme for this year before the end of the week.’’ —New Plymouth Press Association. CAPTAIN COOK'S COTTAGE. LONDON, January 16. —Captain Cook's cottage, which is being sent to Australia/ will be packed in MOO boxes aboard the Port Wellington. MOTH PLANE NOSEDIVES. A Moth plane owned by the Western Federated Flying Club was extensively damaged, when Pilot J. Staumoro, of Wanganui, attempted to land in a paddock near the Hawera aerodrome about 10 this morning. Except for a minor injury to the forehead, the pilot was unhurt. Stanmorc, who was making his first flight from Wanganui to Hawera, stated that, being unable to locate the aerodrome, he was turning into the wind to land in a paddock when the plane nosedived from a height of a few feet and crashed, the tail pointing upwards. The lower wing was wrecked, and the top wing was twisted almost parallel with the body of the piano. The propeller "was splintered off the boss.— Hawera Press Association. RITA WARD MURDER CHARGES, In the afternoon Clarence Ivan Baldich, a clerk, said he was at Lakey's at Christmas, 1932, and hoard part of a conversation between Bayly and Lakey. Something was said to the effect that' if cither went on the other's property they would come to blows. Bayly said if Lakey went on-, .his property he would certainly attempt to attack Auckland ■, Press - Association. .
