UNLAWFULLY ON PREMISES. James Davidson, who appeared voluntarily, was fined 10s and costs (8s) for being unlawfully on licensed premises after hours. PROBATION FOR SHOP-LIFTER. Alma Charlotte Georgina Chirnsid* appeared for sentence on a charge of theft of shoes from a city store. , His Worship, said that, but for the fact that there were several . young children the court would Rave imposed a term of imprisonment. _ {The accused must be under supervision, and His Worship proposed to' give effect to Adjutant ; Coombs's recommendations.—* The acbused would be admitted to probation for a period of three years. She was ordered to make restitution of the value of the shoes (£2 13s 6d) and t» pay one witness’s expenses of Bs. ■ MAINTENANCE. Andrew Reid Burt was proceeded against on a complaint for separation,’ maintenance, and guardianship order* on the grounds of wilful failure to maintain. Sir 0. Stevens appeared for Mr* Burt. After hearing her evidence Hi* Worship made the orders asked for and fixed maintenance at 15s per week.
