The monthly meeting of -the Otago Motor Club, cycle section; will be held .in club rooms to-morrow evening at 8 o’clock. The programme of events for the half-year is to be drawn up,;-and all interested motor cyclists are invited to attend and put forward any suggestions they have in mind' for future events., ' PILLION RUN.

On January 21 the Otago Motor Club cycle section is holding a pillion run, leaving the dub rooms at 10 a.m., to Buckland’s Ford, on the Waikouaiti River. This spot is situated ■ about twenty-seven miles from Dunedin, just off the Main North road, and is an ideal picnicing ground. All riders are requested to bring along a lady friend. A perfect day’s outing and lots of fun are promised. * SPORTS i AFTERNOON AT BRIGHTON.

On Saturday, January 27, the O.M.C. cycle section will hold.a run to the Brighton Domain, where they will take part in a sports afternoon. Included in the programme will be motor cycle football, relay races, obstacle races, and novelty events. A large attendance of motor cyclists is particularly requested to make the events a success.

MOTOR CYCLE SURPRISE

A machine which may well revolutionise motor cycling is-announced'.by the B.S.A. Company, the world’s largest manufacturers- of motor cycles. Briefly, it is a 5 h.p. overhead‘valve model incorporating the Daimler fluid flywheel and pre-selectivc self-changing gearbox. Research has been going on for over two years, but although rumours have been current, the news of the actual production of the new machine comes as a, surprise in motor cycling circles. The experimental model has completed tests of nearly 20,000 miles on the road, but in ’order that the secret- might be kept the machine has never once been allowed to stop outside the B.S.A. works.
