SATURDAY AT FORBURY PARK
The beautiful sunshine on Saturday attracted one of the biggest .and most enthusiastic crowds of trotting enthusiasts that have been seen at Forbury.
Some smart suits and ensembles were seen, with a sprinkling of pretty light summer frocks and wide-brimmed hats worn by the younger folk. Brown held first place in popularity for suits and coats especially when combined with white. Tlie president’s wife (Mrs B. Irwin) wore a smart blue tailleur. with hat to tone, Miss lona Irwin a suit of flecked tweed with black hat. and Miss Cornish a frock of cedar wood silk and fur coat. On the visitors’ balcony were noticed Mrs Cameron (Lytteltc- beige ensemble, worn with stone marten furs and smart brown hat; Mrs Pigeon (Gore), blue suit and hat; Mrs Sweetapple (Christchurch), brown frock and hat; Mrs Bryan (Christchurch' black-and-white ensemble, with black hat: Mr« E. Duncan (Christchurch), mustard frock with cape, fur trimmed, and chic hat to tone: Mrs Donaldson (Oamaru), blue suit flecked with white, blue hat. Others present were Mrs E. R. Harty. brown-and-white checked suit, brown hat: Mrs Garth Gallaway, brown frieze suit and hat to match; Mrs T. Brown, floral frock, black swagger coat and hat; Mrs W. J. Goughian, black frock and coat, wide-brimmed hat; Mrs Jolly, brown ensemble; Mrs B. Couston, black-and-white suit and black hat; Mrs J. M. Paterson, black-and-white, with hat of red straw; Mrs J. R. Peterson, tussore suit, with blue hat; Mrs Buttle, fawn ensemble; Mrs A. Clark, brown frock and short fur coat; Mrs Arthur Barnett, maritime blue ensemble; Mrs Wilson (Stirling), beige wool georgette ensemble, nigger hat, and shoes; Mrs V. S. Jacobs, brown suit, brown hat; Mrs J.
