LIMITED COMPANIES
THE AUDIT IMPOST [Ps* United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., November 28. A deputation representing .the limited liability coxnpanies in. the city, waited on Mr Nash, M.P., with the object of taking steps to oppose a provision in the Companies Bill, which they consider inimical to their interests. The provision referred to is the compulsion on companies to engage auditors to examine their books. The deputation pointed out that the measure would be serious. It was felt that it was not warranted, because such businesses as those represented should not be treated differently from firms which, though not limited liability companies, were very similar, but were not placed under the same disadvantage. An individual might have actually a larger business, but was not placed under the same impost, or subjected to the expense of an audit. The member for Palmerston promised to place the representations before the committee on the Bill,
