The Liberal Parliamentary Party will meet to-day to consider whether it should cross the floor of tho House. Certain tactical advantages _ would, it is stated, be secured by sitting in the Opposition benches, including the right to claim the choice of tho subject for discussion on a certain number of supply days. ‘ The Times' ’ says tho general opinion is that the party to-day will, hy a majority, decide to go into opposition at once, though some members may not yet do so. (Received November 16, at 11 a.m.) The Liberal Parliametnary Party considered Sir Herbert Samuel’s proposal that tho party should go into opposition. The meeting was adjourned till Thursday. Tho party consists of thirty-two members, twenty-one of whom were present. Sir Herbert Samuel will report tho view expressed to prominent Liberals who arc not in Parliament. It is understood- that tljp majority took the line that the national crisis which the National Government _ was formed to deal with no longer existed, and that the Liberals were thus free to resume their independence. It is generally expected that Sir Herbert Samuel and most, but not alj, of his group will cross to the Opposition side when the now session opens.
