INCREASE IN FOREIGN COMPETITION Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 15. (Received November 16, at 10.25 a.m.) The ‘ Daily Express,’ in an article discussing the increase in the amount of Empire shipping captured by foreign vessels, says; “In the past nine months British ships which entered and cleared British ports carried 3,000,000 tons less cargo than for the same period in 1931, while foreign ships’ cargoes showed an increase of 2,000,000 tons.” The writer commends tho decision to build new cargo ships for the New Zealand trade.
