‘THE SHADOW ’ FOR OCTAGON The new doable-feature programme at the Octagon Theatre is headed by ‘ The' Shadow,’ a .British thriller, starring Henry Kendall and Elizabeth Allen. The second him will be ‘ Discarded/ with -Natalie Moorhead, J. Farrell Macdonald, and Sharon Lynn. ‘ The Shadow ’ is said to be packed with mystery, thrills, suspense, and a strong element of comedy and action that holds interest to the final scene. The picture moves rapidly from climax to climax, and the identity of the central character is cleverly concealed until the end, Henry Kendall, well-known British' actor, has the major role, and he is supported by Elizabeth Allen and Sam Livesey. , The story deals with the criminal behaviour of a notorious blackmailer known as “ The Shadow.” The murder of a detective gives the police a clue to the identity of “ The Shadow,” and they track him to the home of Sir lluliard Bryant. The police arrive when a house party, which includes fog-bound travellers, criminals, members of the family, and a facetious novelist, is being held. Murder follows the arrival of the guardians of the peace, and theit investigations lead to a surprising denouement.
