Farms Board has arranged for. the purchase of Allan s property, of 1,082- acres, Peninsula, for subdivision. It will obtain possession on January 1, winch will enable selectors to prepare their subdivisions in time for the next milking season. • . . ~ , v ,„ In conveying this information to AH Ansell, who has made many representations that land should be secured \n bis electorate under the small farms scheme, the Minister of Lands adds: H It is proposed to establish a camp to carrv but the fencing, stumping, reading,‘and general clearing-up work prior to the subdivision of the property into about eighteen holdings. Applicants will be selected from ‘ men with respect to whom the Small Farms Board is satisfied that their settlement on the land would tend to reduce unemployment, and who, in, the opinion of the board, are suitable for employment in rural, occupations.’ Local applications will be invited for settlers, and these will be selected by the representatives of the Small Farms Board, the Dnemploymcnt Board, and the Public Works Department.”
