HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
A meeting of the executive of the above society was held last night. Tho President (Air Jas. Nelson) was in tho chair, and there was a good attendance of committeemen.
Tbc Summer Show, to be held in the Otago Pioneers’ Hall-on-'December 6, was considered, judges being appointed , and all arrangements for stewards and supervisors being completed. A special class in the rose show was instituted for the Moss Memorial competition, as follows: —Open or amateur, six varieties of roses, one of each, in separate vases, own foliage. Entries for the show, including the Moss Memorial, dose on Monday, December 4.
.'Mr Downes reported having made arrangements with Messrs Clias. Begg and Co. to provide a concert party and orchestra on show night. The President expressed his appreciation of the renewed interest which is being taken in the work of the society by the public.
