VISIT OF TENNIS CHAMPIONS

THE ADMISSION CHARGES NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION CRITICISED [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, October 17. Strong criticism of the Managment Committee of the New Zealand Laivn Tennis Association Avas expressed at a meeting of delegates to tho Auckland Lawn Tennis Association to-night. Exception Avas taken to the action of tho dominion body in fixing the admission charges for tho matches to be played by the visiting English team at a minimum of 5s IGd, to the allocation of a Wednesday instead of a Saturday for the match in Auckland, and to tho non-inclusion of an Auckland match in the itinerary of tho Australian players, Quist and Turnbull. The- I'olloaving motion Avas adopted unanimously■ “That this meeting of eighty delegates representing 6,000 _ members _of tho Auckland Laivn Tennis Association expresses grave dissatisfaction with tho arrangements made by the Ngav Zealand LaAvn Tennis Association for Auckland's participation in the visit of the English team and of Turnbull and Quist—first, in regard to the suggested minimum price of 5s lOd, and, secondly, to the refusal of the association to arrange the Auckland match Avith the English team on November 4. While this mooting considers that on any day the prices suggested are 50 per cent, too high, it is of the opinion that Auckland if given a Wednesday match Avith a minimum price of 5s lOd should decline tho match. It feels that the action of tho New Zealand in these matters is unfortunately consistent with tho lack of consideration shown to Auckland on many previous occasions.”

It was also decided to suggest that in the best interests of the game the admission charges for the matches against, the Englishmen and Australians should be fixed at 2s (5d lor standing room and for seats on the temporary stand, and at 3s for other parts. Further, the meeting recommended the Emergency. Committee, in the event of permission to reduce the charges accordingly not being obtainable, to decline the matches.
