Sir Charles Kingsford Smith says he is looking forward to his forthcoming flight across the Tasman at the end of this year. Despite rumours to the contrary, “ Smithy ” definitely sponsors a flight to New Zealand of the twin-en-gined pionoplano which is now being built in Sydney. This plane will fly, in company with the Southern Cross and he piloted by Squadron-leader T. White (of Tim am). Sir Charles says that in his opinion tho new monoplane is tho right type for use in a national air service in the dominion, and ho is completing plans to promote an aviation company with New Zealand capital, in which ho will take an active interest. The plane will he specially designed to suit New Zealand conditions.
