AMERICA'S LATEST CODE Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, October 16. (Received October 17, at 1.30 p.m.) A code for fair competition, embracing the national, State, and savings banks, trust companies, and private banks accepting deposits came into effect to-day. Rigid rules for the regulation of trust business are embodied in the code, which will probably form the basis of similar and perhaps more specific rules to ,be included in the n vestment code. The latter is now ui the process of liciug drafted. It seeks to correct the investment and hanking practices, which were condemned i.y the Senate Banking Committee as the result of its investigations.
