SOUTH OTASO CHAMPIONSHIPS The final events of the South Otago primary schools’ annual sports, which were postponed from last Saturday owing to heavy rain, were run off at Balclutha on Saturday morning. This year Clinton succeeded in winning the shield presented by the Otago branch of the N.Z.A.A.A., while the Herbert Smith Trust Cup for junior grade schools was won by Tuapeka Mouth,Results of the postponed events:75 Yards (Girls under 13).—P. There was a good attendance of past and present players at the bowling green, and the season was declared open by the mayor. Mr D. T. Fleming. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies’ club, and several enjoyable rinks were played despite a strong, gusty wind. Tho opening cricket match was between Kaitangata B and South Otago High School Old Boys. The visitors batted first and were dismissed for 55 runs. H. 5.0.8. obtained an easy victory by 175 runs.
