H.M.S. DUNEDIN V. MOSGIEL A team from H.M.S. Dunedin tried conclusions with a team from the Mosgiel Association Football Club at the Queen’s Park, Mosgiel, on Saturday afternoon, when a cold wind which prevailed interfered with play. The visiting team had the advantage in tho first spell, but tho home team pressed hard in the second. The match resulted in a win for Mosgiel by 3 goals to 2. Mr Bcgbie was referee. A curtain-raiser to the match was played between teams from town and country primary schools, the latter winning by 3 goals to 2. In the evening a dance was held in St. Luke’s Hall, and was attended by members of the visiting team. Messrs Blackie and Bain supplied the music, and Messrs R. Hutton and R. M'Lean were M.C.V.

IN OTHER CENTRES

AUCKLAND. In the Falcon Cup semi-final and championship match, Glen Tunes beat Ponsonby by 3 goals to 1. This defeat prevents Ponsonby from gaining championship honours, which go to Thistle. WELLINGTON. Petone defeated Marist _by 5 goals to 3 in the final of the Wellington Football Association’s first division championship on Saturday. Following the game the shield was presented to the winning side by Mr J. J. Roberts, president of the association. The cup for the winners of the' second division was also handed to Petone.
