ENGLAND AND WALES DECLINE IN BIRTHS. (British Official Wireless.) Breas Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, September 14. A decline in births, fewer deaths, and a very big increase in marriages are recorded in the quarterly return of the Registrar-General as having been registered in England and Wales during the three months ended ,Inne 30. The live births numbered 154,165, which is 11,238 fewer than for the corresponding quarter of 1932. Of these births 79,033 were boys and 75,132 girls. The deaths numbered 108,609, and were 61,393 fewer than for the preceding quarter and 7,619 fewer than for the corresponding quarter of 1932. The death rate was 10.8 per 1,000 of the population, or 0.8 per 1,000 below that recorded during the second quarter of 1932. The natural increase of population by excess of births over deaths was 45,556, which is less than usual. The persons married numbered 170,328, an increase of 81,862 on the preceding quarter, and 33,128 more than for the corresponding quarter of 1932.
