The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern district—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepnki, Bluff. Halfmoon Bay: An anti-cyclone still covers the northeast Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Last night a very slight low pressure wave passed in far south, and is the first of a series of westerly depressions likely to cause some unsettled weather next week. Forecast Moderate but freshening north to north-west winds of gale force likely at times in parts of Foveaux Strait; weather mainly fair to cloudy and mild, but some showers to be expected in Foveanx Strait and the western ranges; seas moderate, but rising. ARRlVED.—September 15. ' Holmdale, s.s. (midnight). 681 tons, Copland, from Wanganui via Wellington. September 16. Waimarino, s.s. (noon), 2,826 tons, Prosser, from Bluff. Tekoa, s.s. (12 30 p.m.), 8,529 tons, Howell-Price, from Liverpool via northern ports. Late last night the Holmdale arrived from northern ports to load cargo. She sails this evening for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Arriving back in port from Bluff at midday to-day, the Waimarino is now timed to sail on Monday for Auckland via ports. The motor ship Foxton is due here on Monday to pick up cargo for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington, and is to sail for the north the same day. The Poolta was to leave Wellington this afternoon for Dunedin’, where she is due on Monday to load out for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. She leaves for those ports on Tuesday. The Kini was loading coal at Westport to-day for Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is expected here on Tuesday for part discharge. For Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin the Wingatui left Auckland last evening. She is due here on Thursday afternoon. TEKOA IN PORT. An arrival at Dunedin early this afternoon was the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tekoa, from Liverpool via ports. She berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge general cargo from England, and is to sail on Tuesday for New Plymouth. CITY OP SINGAPORE. The City of Singapore is reported as having left; New Orleans on August 30 and Galveston on September 5 for Auckland, where she is now due about October 2. thence Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. NEW TRADER EXPECTED. The motor ship Abel Tasman, formerly the Norwegian vessel Nord, is expected to arrive in New Zealand from Australia about the end of this month. She will be engaged in trading between Australia and New Zealand. NARBADA’S PASSENGERS. The Union Company’s chartered steamer Narbada, winch reached Auckland last Saturday from Calcutta via Penang, Singapore, and Samarang, brought the following passengers:—Mr and Mrs W. I). Lnnan and child, Mr and Mrs M. R. Holgato, Mrs L. Anton and child, Mr and Airs C. H. Jackson, Mr and Mrs Simcock and two children. PASSENGERS BY ORAM A. THE PERRY SERVICE. The Rangatira, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.50 this morning, and passengers and mails caught the south express, CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR’S NEXT TRIP, Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the steamer Canadian Constructor leaves Montreal on September 22 for Australian ports, thence Bluff, Dunedin, and Lyttelton. At the New Zealand ports she discharges and loads cargo, being due to work here on October 19. ■ She is to sail from Lyttelton about October 23 for New York, Boston, and Halifax.
