VETERAN JOURNALISTROTARIAN

MR R. A. LOUGHNAN HONOURED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 5. The Wellington Rotary Club luncheon table to-day had an unusual decorative feature, an iced birthday cake with ninety-two coloured candles, each one representing a year in the life of Mr R. A. Loughnan, the veteran journalist and the oldest Rotarian in Now Zealand, whose ninety-second birthday took place last week. Referring to the event the president (Mr C. J. B. Norwood) expressed regret that Mr Loughnan was not able to be present. The Fellowship Committee had undertaken to deliver the cake and to express to the recipient the good wishes of the whole of the members.
