Briand at Trebcurden, Brittany, declared that Franco was strong enough to resist violence and face the threat coming from across tho frontier. The quiet visit of M. Daladier (Prime Minister) to the frontier defences was a suitable reply to tho outbursts that were deeply disturbing tho atmosphere of peace, which was essential to tho restoration of Europe.
