RAILWAY ADVERTISING.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—lt is, with extreme gratification that I wish to express my appreciation of the new electric sign depicting a railway train on behalf of the children, who like to see “tho pretty lights ” ; but I venture to state that this sign cannot and will not be instrumental in any way in influencing a single extra passenger for our railways. Considering the present state of financial stringency, 1 am surprised that those in authority should expeud such a large sum of money in such a futile way. I also understand that these “ Neon ” signs are only erected on an annual rental basis, aud never become tho property of the advertiser.—l am, etc. Pro Bono Punmco. September 4.
