THE ‘SPORTS SPECIAL 1

TO-MORROW'S FEATURES There is a big programme of sporting events locally and in other centres to-morrow, so that the ' Sports Special ’ issue to-morrow night will be a very live one. Local fixtures include the Hunt Club Races at Wingatui, the Rugby match Otago v. South Canterbury, and (as curtain-raiser to it) the Otago women’s hockey team that so distinguished itself in the New Zealand tourney in an exhibition game with another Otago team; Soccer and League matches; harrier sports meetings; and cycling. The Otago touring Rugby team meet Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki meet Wellington, the West Coasters engage Canterbury in a shield match, the Otago primary schools hockey representatives play Canterbury for the Hatch Cup, and the Dunedin and Christchurch secondary schools meet in the same centre.

The ‘ Sports Special,’ with reports of these and other events of the day and week, will be sold on the streets to-morrow night.
