A special Cabinet meeting has been convened for September 5, for whicli Mr MacDonald is returning from Lossiemouth. It is believed that the meeting is being held in connection, with Mr Bennett’s invocation of Article 21 of the Anglo-Canadian Ottawa agreement covering a tribunal to investigate the grievance of Canada over Britain’s imports of Russian timber. Tiiis article was inserted at Mr Bennett’s request, and was aimed at the Soviet’s allegedly slave-produced timber, the importation of which, it was desired, should be reduced by half.
