MAYOR'S RELIEF ORGANISATION GENERAL ISSUE OF FOOD ORDERS WITHDRAWN Owing to the severe strain placemen the funds of the mayor’s relief organisation, the Central Executive has been reluctantly compelled to withdraw the special food orders at present being issued to the men on the No. 5 scheme. In future these orders will be issued in cases of sickness only, and applicants are required to produce a certificate from a minister, doctor, or recognised social worker. It should not be necessary for applicants to wait on the mayor for orders, as all applications will be dealt with at the various district depots only. The present arrangements for fuel distribution are cancelled as from Friday next, and the following substituted in'lieu thereof:—The quantity supplied will bo four bags per month as at present made up as follows: Two bags of either Kaitangata or Taratu, at 2s and Is 6d per bag respectively, and two bags of Allbright (lignite) at Is per bag. RECIPIENTS OF SUSTENANCE The attention of the recipients of sustenance is drawn to the fact that an instalment of the unemployment levy was due on August 1. It should be noted that sustenance will not be paid to any man whose August instalment of the levy is outstanding. MISSION HOUSE COLLECTORS Collectors for the Anglican Mission House in Moray place state that for the purpose of gaining a more ready response from the public collectors from some other organisation have been using the name of their institution. They wish it known that Mission House representatives carry with them a typewritten authoritative note.
