FINE ARRAY OF SCREEN STARS
IN TWO FILMS FOR OCTAGON A very human story of modern life in New York is told in ‘Walking Down Broadway,’ which is one of the films coming to the Octagon Theatre on Friday. Boots Mallory makes a charmingly natural heroine. She is cast as a typical girl clerk, who shares a single room in an apartment house with a friend (Zasu Pitts). James Dunn acts attractively as the young savings bank salesman whom the girls meet in a crowd in Broadway, and the romance that ensues is the basis for an exceptionally interesting film. ‘lnfernal Machine,’ which will also bo shown, has all the elements of satisfying screen entertainment, Romance and comedy are the ingredients of the production, in which Chester Morris has the leading role as a destitute American, who spends his last few francs in a taxi ride, and is involved in a collision with a car containing a beautiful American girl. The pair adjourn to an adjoining cafe, and from this point the action never halts.
