Mr Robert Arlow returned to Wellington by the second express to-da ( y. Mr A. J. Walker left for Christchurch to-day. Mr,W. Garrett has left on a business visit to Wellington. Mr W. Beadle was a passenger for Christchurch by to-day’s second express. Mr J. W. Dunning, accompanied by Mrs Dunning, has gone to Oamaru for the school vacation. Mr H. M. Mackay, managing director of New Zealand Airways, returned this afternoon from Tiniaru.
Visitors to the Grand Hotel include Mrs A. P. Taylor, Miss Whelan, Messrs M. F, Barnett and Nelson Hawkins (Christchurch), and Mr Robert Arlow (Wellington). Mr 11. Sinclair, whose death took place on Wednesday afternoon, was an old and respected resident of Port Chalmers, where he had resided for upwards of sixty years. Mrs 'Sinclair predeceased her husband a few years ago. They are survived by three sons and one daughter. The deceased was born in the Shetland Islands eighty-four years ago, and followed seafaring before settling at Port Chalmers. A Napier Association telegram records the death of Mr Robert Loosmore Williams, managing director of Henry Williams and Sons, aged 73 years.
