BARGEES ON STRIKE
AIBNE CANAL BLOCKED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, August 24. Bargee strikers blocked the Aisnc canal at Berry-au-Bac, obstructing all traffic to and from Rheiras. Naval tugs atb patrolling tho Seine, Nearly 1,000 barges are idle in Nbrd Department. Tho strike is preventing the delivery of over 250,000 tons of goods. SERIOUS HINDRANCE OF TRAFFIC. PARIS, August 24. (Received August 25, at 1 p.m.) The strike of bargees continues. Two hundred barges are now linked nineteen deep, blocking the Oise, which is the main artery of the canal system in Northern France. There was another barrage at Berry-au-Bac, on the Aisne canal, which the naval ratings broke when they threatened to use hoses as they did in the battle of the Seine. Military aeroplanes were used to photograph the bargees’ stronghold to enable the naval forces more readily to open the waterways,
