THOUSANDS HOMELESS AND STARVING AEROPLANES DROPPING FOOD Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SHANGHAI, August 23. All available Government troops are engaged in strengthening the dyke walls. A Sianfu telegram reports that thirty-four districts in Kwangchun are completely flooded. Thousands of people are homeless and starving, llelief work is difficult owing to the scattered nature and inaccessibility of the affected areas, but aeroplanes are being used to drop food and carry out surveys.
It is reported that enormous damage has been done in Western Shansi. Thousands are sheltering iu tree tops and on the roofs of . floating houses.
