The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the Southern district—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanni, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay;— The depression referred to yesterday lias since been crossing the dominion, but bas filled up to some extent. An intense anti-cyclone follows it. The barometer at Hobart this morning read 30.47 inches. Forecast: Strong south to south-east winds, later decreasing gradually. Weather cold, and changeable. with showers at times. Hail likely in places, and, on the ranges, snow. Seas rough. SAlLED.—August 24. Opihi, s.s. (4.45 p.m.). 1,117 tons, Evans, for New Plymouth via ports. Storm, s.s. (6.30 p.m.), 749 tons. Williams, for Wanganui via ports. Holmglen, m.s. (8.15 p.m.), 432 tons. Mead, for Port Waikato via ports. The tanker Ranella, which is discharging bulk cargo at the Victoria Wharf) is timed to sail early to-morrow morning for Balikpapan. The' Opihi got away last evening for Nelson and New Plymouth via ports. The Storm sailed last evening for Wanganui via ports, and the Holmglen left later for Waikato and way ports. ■Due this afternoon from Bluff the Waimarino is to load here. She sails to-morrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, Picton. Wellington, and Auckland. After unloading cargo here on Monday the Totara is then to load out, sailing on Tuesday for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, AVellington, and New Plymouth.

The Titoki was expected _ to leave Tauranga to-day for Dunedin, where she is due at the beginning of the week. She sails from here on _ Tuesday for Timaru, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Tauranga. The Gale is to load here on Monday for Timaru. Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and AVanganui. Arriving next Monday from AVellington the Holmdale is to load that day for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington. Pieton, and Wanganui. The Port Campbell was to leave Sydney on Tuesday night for Bluff, where she should arrive on Sunday. She commences loading at the southern port, finishing at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Gisborne, 'and Auckland. The vessel sails from Auckland about September 13 for London via Cape Horn. THE FERRY SERVICE. , The Maori, from AVellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 8.50 this morning, and passengers and mails connected with the south express. SURREY LEAVES MONTEVIDEO. The Surrey, which left AVellington on August 2, sailed from Montevideo on August 21. NARBADA LEAVES SAMARANG. The Narbada, en route from Calcutta, left Samarang on Monday. She is now duo at Auckland on September 9. AVATRUNA AT SUVA. The Wairuna reached Suva on August 19 from Auckland. At Fiji the vessel is loading sugar for Vancouver. Afterwards the AVairuna will load at Pacific Coast ports early in October for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. She will return to Auckland about November 2. ANOTHER PACIFIC CRUISE. The Matson liner Lurline, which visited Auckland last February on a Pacific cruise, will call at Auckland in February next year during a similar trip. The liner will leave San Francisco on January 23, and is due at Auckland on Saturday, February 10. She will spend the week-end at Auckland, and will sail the following Monday for Sydney, returning to San Francisco by way of the East. MAUNGANUI FOR SYDNEY. The Union Company's R.M.S. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the motor ship Opawa, from London, is due at Dunedin next Wednesday to discharge portion of her English cargo. She then goes to Port Chalmers to commence loading. REMUERA AWAY FROM LONDON. With passengers and cargo, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Kemuera left London yesterday for Auckland and Wellington. She is due at Auckland on September 30. RANG IT AT A RADIOS ARRIVAL. “ Expect to arrive at Auckland on Wednesday,” runs a radio message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from the master of the Rangitata, which is en route irom London.
