ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
NECK INJURIES. While engaged in physical exercises at the Dunedin Technical College yesterday, Ernest Hobe, aged fifteen, received injuries to his neck, and was admitted to the hospital at 3.30 p.m. FOUND DEAD IN BED. An inquest was held this morning on Gordon Featherstone Moore, who was found dead in bed in Glasgow street on June 5. Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., sat as coroner, and Sergeant M'Entee conducted the inquiry for the police. Evidence of identification was given by John Moore (Greymouth), son of the deceased, who said that his father was fifty-two years of age, and was a miner by occupation. He was coal mining near Greymouth when he became ill about three and a-half .years ago. He was granted a miner’s pension in 1930, and later left GreymouthEvidence was_ also given by Georgina Coulter regarding the finding of deceased dead in'his bed at 20 Glasgow street, where he was boarding at the time.
Constable C Hide stated that a search’ of the room revealed nothing that would lead to the assumption that the deceased had taken anything to cause death.
The Coroner stated that a post mortem examination had been carried out,but Dr D’Ath desired to make a further examination, and the inquest would be adjourned till his report was available. - 1
