The quest for food is dangerous to wild ducks which bravo the Arctic if they are not quick enough to recognise the oncoming of a cold snap. A flock of ducks, frozen in the ice of a lagoon, was discovered lately by the polar expedition filming ‘ Eskimo,’ _ near Teller, Alaska. Apparently, writes Colonel W. S. Van Dyke, director pf the expedition, the birds had penetrated farther north than usual to fish in the lagoon and were there when a sudden cold snap froze the water before they realised it. They wore caught as in a trap.
