France, defeated the Australians, Dunlop and Purcell, at Aliramar today by two matches to one. The conditions made consistently good play impossible. .Dunlop was right off form against Alalfroy, who gave him no chance to dominate play from the net. Purcell’s well-produced strokes and service were impressive. France played well to take him. to G-all in the third set. The doubles match was a long-drawn-out struggle with many, bright interludes. Results: — Alalfroy beat Dunlop, 6-1, 6-4. France lost to Purcell, 2-6, G-3, 6-8. Alalfroy and France beat Dunlop and Purcell, 6-4, 4-6, 0-8, 6-3, 7-5.
