LIFE SAVING

SAGAR CUP CONTEST The big event of tho year in local life-saving circles will bo held at St. Clair Beach to-morrow, when the annual competition for the Sugar Cup. at present held by the St. Clair Life Saving Club, will be decided. • This contest comprises land drill, water work, and resuscitation, and there is also a champion beltman’s competition. The competition is for teams of four a-side, and added interest will be given by the appearance of three teams from the Oreti Life Saving Club (Invercargill), one of which defeated St. Clair and St, Hilda teams recently in the Kingsland Memorial Shield contest at Invercargill. In addition teams from St. Kilda and St. Clair will take part, and a keen competition is assured.
