(Received January 26, at 1.25 p.m.) ' The most astonishing art exhibition in history closed after business valued at 2,500,000 francs was done for the benefit of needy craftsmen. .Nothing was sold. Every picture, statue, or object of art was bartered for in goods. One artist secured a motor car in exchange for a picture, another several bottles of Chablis. A surgeon gave a free operation, and a physician a year’s free attendance. Tho Salon des Echanges has been so successful that it will be repeated in 1934.
