SMALLPOX IN COLOMBO

SITUATION UNDER CONTROL THIRTY-SIX CASES TO DATE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. COLOMBO, December 20. (Received December 21, at 9.30 a.m.) There are thirty-six cases of smallpox to date. The situation is under perfect control. The port surgeon expressed the opinion that it was absolutely safe for tourists to land if they were vaccinated. All ships’ workers and agents , have been vaccinated. No person is allowed on board unless vaccinated. Ships entering port are warned by the authorities that passengers must bo advised that it is unsafe to land unless vaccinated, but there are no restrictions regarding the landing of passengers. There was a lull during the week-end, only one case being reported.
