PORT CHALMERS CONGREGATIONALISTS

A very pleasant carol service was held in the above church, consisting of carols and anthems by the choir, under the baton of Mr Kenneth Roy, L.L.8., choirmaster, while solos by Mr L. Neilson and Mr G. Forbes were very much appreciated by a large congregation. The following contributed items: — Anthem, ‘Behold I Bring You Good Tidings,’ choir; solo, ‘ Bells of Christmastide,’ Mr L. Neilson; carols, ‘ Love Came Down at Christmas ’ and ‘ All This Night Bright Angels Sing,’ choir; solo, ‘ Nearer, My God to Thee,’ Mr G. Forbes; carol, ‘ Good King AVeneeslas,’ choir; solo, ‘Sleep, Holy Babe,’ Mr L. Neilson; carol, ‘Silent Night,’ choir; anthem, ‘lt Came Upon the Midnight Clear,’ choir.
