So grateful is King Zouunn Aledje, King of tho Night, a native ruler in Dahomey, for the wonderful work done by the Carmelite monks in his kingdom that he has offered a royal sceptre of ebony decorated in silver as a mark of homage to the memory of St. Tlioro.se. When the Duchess of Abercorn opened a new Boy Scouts’ hall in Belfast recently, the ceremony took the form of lighting a lire in the fireplace, over which ran the inscription, “ Hero let tho tire of friendship burn.” The Duchess was given a Scout's ration of two matches for the task, and lit the fire with only one.
