CAVERSHAM BAPTIST CHURCH

A large audience enjoyed the sacred cantata, ‘The Manger and the Cross/ on Sunday evening last. A full choir under the baton of Mr C. Clark, with Mr C. W. Clark at the organ, gave a very creditable rendering of this fine cantata. Miss Ruby Price excelled in her soprano solos, while Mrs R. Read (contralto), Mr H. Clark (tenor), and Mr Ron Duncan (bass) were also successful in their presentation of the solos and duets. A quartet by Mrs and Miss Elsey and Messrs R. Duncan and H. Clark was very , effectively rendered. The chorus work was marked by expression throughout and gave evidence of careful preparation.
