WHEAT FRIGES
PROPOSED FARMERS' STRIKE WESTERS AUSTRALIA SUPPORTS ALBERTA Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER, December 6. (Received December 7, at 12.5 p.m.) A message from Rumsey (Alberta) states that lacking the support of any organised body in their home provinces, the farmers of Rumsey, who last month called for Western Canada’s growers to refuse to seed wheat next spring, have received the following cable; “Wheat Growers Union of Western Australia is not delivering wheat this harvest. Hold-up general.” Informed of the cable Mr John M'Naughton, leader of the Rumsey movement, declared: “Wo con gratulate the farmers of Western Australia. If the Australians cannot afford to market their wheat at twice the price we are getting it is positive proof that we should stop producing until our monetary and social systems are adjusted so that we shall get at least the cost of production. We are glad to know that the producers in other countries are going to make an clfort also to adjust the present conditions.
The Alberta Wheat Pool annual meeting has already debated wheat holding and the proposed strike, without taking action, and a resolution on the farm strike still awaits decision by the United Farmers of Alberta.:
