SOVIET'S ENEMIES

REGENT EXPULSIONS •' CRUSHED WITHOUT MERCY " LONDON, October 11. Tbo official explanation of the expulsion of Ziuovicff, Kamcnoff, and eighteen others from the Communist. Party, according to the Riga correspondent of ‘ The Times,’ is that they had long striven to undermine the Government’s constructive work. They aggravated present difficulties by the assistance they gave to illicit presses which were secretly used for printing great quantities of counterrevolutionary literature and false documents. The Government therefore, decided to crush its enemies without mercy, in spite of the gloom thereby cast over the October celebrations. Four other men, including ringleaders of a heckling campaign, have been expelled from the party, but may appeal for readmission in 1934.
