SECRET COMMISSIONS
QUEENSLAND DAIRY INDUSTRY REPORT OF ROYAL COMMISSION Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. BRISBANE, October 22. (Received October 22, at 10.30 a.m.) The report of the Royal Commission which inquired into the alleged payment of secret commissions to butter factory managers and others was tabled in the Assembly. The commission found that the payment of £1,500 to Mr Harry Walker, M.L.A., by Wildridge and Sinclair Ltd. was a secret payment, and was made in respect of a contract for the Gympio Butter Factory. The commission found that a large number of factory managers and others engaged in the dairying industry had received secret commissions from machinery companies, which were also inculpated. Payments totalling £30,874 were made to factory officials. The Premier (Mr Forgan Smith) stated that the whole matter had been referred to the Crown Law Office regarding any further action that might be taken.
