NORWEGIAN STEAMER SUNK NO LIVES LOST (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, October 10. A collision occurred in the English Channel yesterday between the White Star liner Afric Star, bound from London to Buenos Aires, and the Norwegian steamer Charente, of 1,327 tons, bound from Bordeaux to Oslo.

The Charente’s crew and three passengers, including a woman and a baby, were taken aboard the Afric Star, which kept her bow locked in the Norwegian vessel. Afterwards the Charente sank, and the Afric Star returned to London, where it was found that her bows had been damaged.
