CHILD LOSES LEG. While Villa Sweet, three-year-old daughter of Mrs E. Sweet, relief worker, was playing in the railway yard at Tangowahine on a trolly, with her small brother, the trolly backed into a Publio Works locomotive, with the result that she had a leg crushed badly. The little sufferer was taken to the Northern Wairoa Hospital, where the limb was amputated below the knee. She was progressing favourably this morning.—> Dargavill© message. BOXER INJURED. After putting up a spirited showing in an amateur contest against D. Loveridge at the Wellington Boxing Association’s tournament last night, G. Wilson, of Silverstream, collapsed and was taken to the hospital suffering from severe head injuries.—Press Association.
