GALLI-CURCI SEASON

FIRST CHCEIT OH WEDNESDAY

Galli-Curci, truly described as “ the world’s queen of song,” has apparently met with a success in the north that is quite amazing in these times, and the dainty Spauish-Italian soprano is carrying all before her both on and off the 'concert platform. At the conclusion of her Auckland season the famous priraa donna will leave for Dunedin, where she wilt arrive next Tuesday, and after resting for a day she will give the first of two concerts in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening, the box plans for which are now open at The Bristol. Galli-Curci’s recent triumph at Christchurch may be imagined after reading the following cutting from Christchurch ‘Sun’ of September 5: —“At the conclusion of Galli-Curci’s final concert on Saturday night the audience rose to a man, clapping, cheering, and answering her fluttering handkerchief by waving programmes, scarves, and hats. It was a brilliant concert, and the laurel crowns madam received were but fitting tributes to a great singer and a most gracious lady.” Galli-Curci is assisted on her tour by two very fine artists of international fame in Mi - Raymond Williams (flautist) and Mr Homer Williams (pianist). Other particulars are advertised.
