The Press Association’s Geneva correspondent states that the Assembly reopened in a more cheerful mood. The Bolivian and Paraguayan delegates, while each maintained the rightfulness of his own cause, declared their willingness to accept the League’s arbitration in the Gran Chaco dispute. Thus an early step has been taken to profit by the exhortations of Mr De Valera and Mr Hughes that the League should prove itself in the eyes of the world a real leader in peace. M. Politis announced that it had been decided to leave the question of mandates in the Political Committee’s hands.
