WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28. j (Before Mr J. It. Bartholomew, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Gordon Cecil MMntyre, a second offender, was fined 20s, in default fortyeight hours’ imprisonment. BREAKING AND ENTERING CHARGE. Francis Charles do Bazin was charged with breaking and entering by night the shop of James Forrester tie Clifford and stealing £3 16s in money and goods of a total value of £l3 5s. —On the application of Chief-detective Young the accused was remanded for a week. SEVEN DAYS’ IMPRISONMENT. “ The accused is not entitled to any consideration,” said the magistrate, in dealing with Richard Carter, who appeared for sentence on a charge of the theft of a petrol lighter from Woolworth’s. His Worship stated that the probation officer's report was most adverse to tile accused. He had been admitted to probation three years ago. and was given every possible opportunity. However. his conduct Intel been hopeless, and lie had failed in every condition of Ills probation. This offence called for a deterrent penally. Carter was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment.
