FARM FOR " VALUELESS ASSETS ” CLAIM BY EX’WAITATI FARMER [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 27. Allegations of misrepresentation were brought in the Supreme Court today, when William A. Lattimore and Muriel Winifred Nash, carrying on business as Lattimore ami Co., land and estate agents, of Christchurch, were sued for £1,500 by George Henry Millar, of Sumner, late of Otago, farmer.

Plaintiff alleged that he exchanged a valuable farm for a lot of valueless assets at defendants’ instigation. Tho statement of claim set out that plaintiff, up to May, 1931, had owned a farm of sixty-three acres, valued at £1,504-, at Waitati, in Otago. In April, 1931, he put the farm in tho hands of C. S. Haggitt, land agent, of Otago, who came into touch with defendants. Defendants informed Haggitt that they had a client who had recently purchased a largo farm at Feathorston, and who had assets in Christchurch in the shape of houses and sections which ho wished to quit. Haggitt said that Millar had to havo something which would furnish him with a livelihood. Defendants produced a list of nine assets. A man named I*. C. Busing was the client referred to. Millar exchanged his farm for certain assets, which were alleged to bo worth £1,500. Plaintiff considered that lie had been led into the deal by misrepresentation, and ho claimed £1,500 of general damages.
