At tho annual conference of dairy factory managers attention was directed to tho enormous development in the dairying industry in Australia in recent years. Whereas the shipments to the United Kingdom in 1928-29 amounted to 127,000 tons, tho exports to June, 1932, were 176,000 tons, valued at Australian ports at £21,116,000. In the same period the New South Wales production rose from 43,300 tons to 66,300 tons, realising £7,243,000. Mr J. R. King emphasised the need for an Australian pat butter factory in Loudon, whore they could sell butter in prints, thus retaining its identity and avoiding its being blended with inferior grades of foreign and Continental butter.
